Dr. Roberts was born on October 15, 1958 to the late Ralph William and Mary Roberts (Mary Lois Watts) in El Paso, Texas. He was a 1976 graduate of Davidson High School, graduated with his associates degree from Davidson Community College in 1980, received his undergrad from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and his Optometry Degree from Southern College of Optometry in 1985. Dr. Roberts was married to Marla Hart on June 12, 1982 and together they began raising their four children on the farm. He enjoyed reading, fly-fishing, helping with Boy Scouts, exploring theology, and philosophy, and was a member of Providence Reformed Baptist Church in Asheboro.
Mark’s living legacy was his great passion. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marla Hart Roberts of the home, children, Zachary Austin Roberts (Janice) of Seagrove, Briana Marie Wall (Jackson) of Wendell, Ciera Danielle Harrison (Jacob) of Greensboro, Jamison Franklin Roberts (Taryn) of Climax and six wonderful grandchildren: Blair Roberts, Islay Roberts, Declan Roberts, Darcy Roberts, Tully Wall, and Margot Harrison.
