Leonard Lee “Lynn” Fields, 79, of Ramseur passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026 surrounded by his family at home.

A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Patterson Grove Christian Church with Rev. Terry Batchelor officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM until 3:45 PM in the sanctuary.

Lynn was born in Chatham County on May 8, 1947 to the late Henry and Ruby Brown Fields. He was a graduate of Jordan Matthews High School and a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam. He met and married the love of his life, Erma Richardson on April 11, 1969 and together they began their family. Lynn spent many years as a supervisor at Selig Manufacturing. He enjoyed playing golf, going to church and spending time with his family and friends. Lynn never met a stranger, was a man of faith, and always made sure others knew about Jesus.

In addition to his parents, Lynn was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Erma Richardson Fields, as well as his brothers, Ray and Bobby Fields. He is survived by his daughter, Sandy Fields of Ramseur, and sisters, Rebecca Jones and Brenda McDaniels (Jay Sr.), both of Bennett.
