Peggy Humble Lineberry, 78, of Ramseur passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 surrounded by her family at Cone Health Moses Cone Hospital.

Peggy will lie in repose from noon until 5:00 PM on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Coley Funeral & Cremation Service followed by a public visitation for family and friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A private family funeral service will be held to honor Peggy’s life at First E & R in Asheboro with Pastor Dave Cash officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Knoll Cemetery in Ramseur.

Peggy was born on September 4, 1948, to the late Clarence and Mary Lou Johnston Humble and was a graduate of Franklinville School. She later attended Asheboro Beauty School and was the owner and operator of Styles Unlimited in Ramseur. For nearly 60 years, Peggy faithfully served her community as a hairstylist, building a career that touched many hearts and lives.

For Peggy, being a hairstylist was much more than a profession; it was a way of serving others, and her heart remained in it even as she approached the final days of her life. Being behind the chair was more than a job for her; it was a calling and an opportunity to pour into others. Throughout the years, she became much more than a stylist. She was a trusted source of advice, an encourager, a confidante, and for many, a listening ear. She shared in the celebrations, heartaches, milestones, and everyday moments of countless lives. To Peggy, her clients were more than another hairstyle, they were a family she chose to do life with and loved deeply.

While many knew and loved Peggy through her work, the roles she treasured most were those of wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her greatest joy was found in the people she loved and the time they shared together. Whether she was watching a baseball game, dancing, traveling to the beach, working on a puzzle, or simply enjoying time surrounded by family, those ordinary moments became some of her most meaningful. Peggy built a beautiful life around caring for people and that is exactly what she did. She loved the lord as evidenced in her love for others and was a member of First E & R in Asheboro.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Lineberry, Sr., and her special granddaughter, Jessica Hollady. She is survived by her daughter, Sheri Moffitt Haynes (Steven) of Randleman, sister, Kathryn Byrd (James Byrd, Jr.) of Longs, SC, her step-children, Rodney Lineberry of Charlotte, Charles “Chuck” Lineberry (Kimberly) of Boca Raton, FL, Joseph “Joe” Lineberry, Jr., of North Carolina, Tina Brannon (Paul) of Lexington. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren, Zach Lineberry (Jaci), Sydney Lineberry, Brooks Brannon (Bethany), Mason Lineberry, Colin Lineberry, Stetson Haynes (Shea), Nick Holder (McLaine), her great-step-grandchildren, McCoy Haynes and Eliza Jo Holder, as well as her nieces, Sandra Ditski (John) of NJ, Angel Shirley (Keith) of Greensboro and her longtime friend who has always been as close as a sister, Teressa Williams.
